Get
Elected This Term With More Backlinks!
More
votes are your marketing strategy if you want to be elected President,
right?
The
more votes (backlinks) you have for your candidate (website), the
higher up in the election polls (search engines like Google, MSN,
etc.) you'll be.
These
votes (backlinks) are when another website gives
your website a link on theirs. Basically other websites are telling
the world they approve of your website and would recommend
you.
The
more votes -> approval/recommendations (backlinks) you have to
your website, obviously, the more respected, admired and
well-liked you are viewed to others. With everyone voting
for your candidate (website), obviously you are trusted,
well-informed and popular (great website content relevant
to the user's search).
All
search engines are competitors of one another and they want their
search engine to be the best of the best! Therefore, they want the
best of the best websites (The Presidents of all websites). Some
search engines consider lots of backlinks to a website to mean that
those are the best sites and will subsequently rank them higher
than other websites with less backlinks in their search engine results
pages. Check to see how many backlinks you have to your website
in the form below or read more about the many ways to get
more backlinks.
Google
is a good example of a search engine that uses backlinks
which they call Google PageRank. The amount of backlinks of
a website aid Google in figuring out how high it will rank this
website in their search engine results pages.
There
are many ways to get backlinks on your own:
1.
The one way we all know to get backlinks is to submit
your website URL to search engines, online directories,
themed portals, local or membership organizations relevent to
your website content.
2.
Got a niche? Write an article and submit it to
a website or article submission service to use as website content,
email blasts or for newsletters. People are always looking for
original content. Always put a copyright notice on all your articles.
For example:
Tawnya
Sutherland, Copyright © 2011
This article may be freely reprinted in your ezine, e-book and/or
on your web site so long as it provides a link back to the Mediamage
Business Solution’s website at http://www.mediamage.com.
3.
Write a witty testimonial for a product/service
you love. Email to the company with a link to your webpage and
9 times out of 10 the webmaster will use it on their testimonial
page with a backlink to your website.
I
love MollyBo's Maid Services for my company and personal home
cleaning. Housework can't kill me but why take a chance?

4.
Set up an award program on your website. Have
a form on your website that people can submit their website URL
to for "The Business Website of the Week" or whatever
award you want to give. Choose a winner each week, send them the
graphic award to be put on their website which links to your website.
Everyone loves to win something and be put in the limelight and
most webmasters will proudly link back to your website if they
have received some type of award to entice them to do so.
5.
Haven't wrote a Press Release yet? Do so now
and submit to all the places online that accept press releases
with your business URL. Type "press release submission"
into any search engine to find a realm of websites to submit your
Press Release to.
6.
Give away freebies or offer a download area of
free things that others can use. People will often link to websites
like this just to offer their own customers free stuff.
7. Start finding blogs to comment on. With every blog comment, you usually have to sign in to comment and it gives you the option to leave your link (URL)with your comment. This is an excellent backlink source for you as it serves two purposes. The first is the backlink itself and the second is if you write something of value people will read it and may even click to check out your website so it pulls traffic your way instantly too!
8. Get into social networking like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc. and start talking to your followers with a link now and then in your tweets back to your website and blog posts.
9. Add Google+ to your blog and start using it.
10.
Last but not least...it never hurts to just ask!
Here's a sample letter you can send to other webmasters below.
Check out who your competitors backlinks are and approach these
websites too!

There
are a few ways above to keep you busy getting backlinks to your
website. Remember think out-of-the-box for different
ways you can get people to link to your website.
Avoid
doing these backlink NO-NOs:
- Do
not exchange links with "free-for-all" or "farm
links". What are these? These are website pages which are
a listing of 50 or more links all on one page that have no relevancy
to each other or to the website they are on. Try to avoid these
as they can be destroy all the hard work you have done to get
backlinks if you get banned from the search engine. Read Google's
policy on link farms...
- Do
avoid linking with websites that are not relevent to yours.
Remember your target market and who they are, how they surf
the net and what websites they visit. If you are a website selling
dog food, most likely a backlink coming from a website selling
photocopying services will not get you a sale. A backlink on
a local veternarian's website however may just snag you a sale
or two.
- Do
avoid webrings. Webrings are a bunch of similar websites who
all join together under one banner that is put on all of their
websites that when clicked on randomly pulls up one of the websites
within the group. Reason I avoid these is that most want this
banner on the main page of your webiste which takes away from
the professionalism of your website plus when clicked on takes
you directly to a competitor. Is it worth a backlink to lose
a sale? Nah!
